In 2012, a writing commission was received to dramatize the true story of Flora Jewsbury, who was given away by her natural parents to be looked after by friends, in the early part of the twentieth century.
Shortly before her death in 1993, Flora typed out the story of her early life for her daughter Edith so that she could understand the difficulties that her mother had had to cope with in her early life.
This document was now been turned into a two-act play, which gives interesting and at times, disturbing insights into aspects of English urban life in the early part of the 20th century.
